ARTIST STATEMENT:
I have a passion for the mountains and the outdoors. I'm not much of a hunter, but I love to fish with my sons and daughters. We have worked most of the waters in Utah! If you ever want to know where to fish, I can tell you exactly where to go. My family and I live in a spectacular place and the variety is never ending with the different plays on light and seasons. There are so many undiscovered places few people ever go. Finding these places renews me, and I love to represent them in my paintings.
My goal as an artist is to capture the beauty and feeling of the natural world around me. I consider myself a realist and try to represent faithfully the regional landscapes I paint. I want my drawings to be accurate, and my colors to be faithful to the places I've experienced. I want to honor through my artwork, the great artists from the past that portrayed the beauty around us l. I hope people can feel the inspiration and elevation that I get from art.
I enjoy the process of painting and the struggle to communicate an idea or feeling. The greatest award is when someone enjoys my efforts enough to want it as a part of their own life.
Sincerely, Travis
Whether you are an art enthusiast or a collector, I welcome your passion and vision.
